A research project by Bridget Millmore, illustrating the engraved love tokens of the poor. Dating from the eighteenth century these objects were made from low value coins and given to mark life transitions and separations. The stories depicted on these intimate artefacts feature convicts, jailbreakers, mutineers as well as needle women, bakers, barbers and farriers.
